My Story

BIO

When I write a poem I go to a quiet place in my mind (because I never learned how to meditate officially) and a word appears and I write it down. Similarly I see clusters, defined as thought forms which include thoughts, emotions, and experiences. They're almost physical in an abstract metaphorical sense, like dreams. There but not there. A natural progression from word to thing.

Usually I get the image first, make a simple digital drawing, and then add relevant graphic objects such as grotesque faces, and finally draw lines with my finger in a free, spontaneous fashion that I couldn't express with oils or acrylics To top it all off I convert whatever I believe needs color, especially the fragile lines with neon enhancement. After rearranging any stray parts that could improve the overall composition, I'm done and ready to order an artist's proof. Most of these pieces feel like they are moving.
